Outstanding teacher and a beautiful soul. Mrs. Hepp is the reason why I enter the medical field.I was a student from 1982-1983 and in the process of retiring from the Gary,In. Fire Dept. with 29 years of service. Mrs Hepp was instrumental in my life along with so many others and for that she will be missed.

One of my most apprehensive days at Calumet was having to tell Mrs Hepp I got fired from the job she arranged for me. She ended up laughing at my story and arranged me another job.

Pam, Cyndy, Chris, and Hepp Family,
I just learned from my college friend, Roy Hernandez, of your mom's passing. My husband and I just returned from a 3 week vacation out of the country last night, so regretfully missed the funeral services. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Your mom was a lovely and spirited woman! I am so glad to have had the privilege to know her. May you know God's loving graces that surround you.

I loved Dorothy Hepp she was teaching at Calumet High School when I was first introduced to nursing as CNA . She was my mentor ,she taught me kindness, love, compassion along with the skills I needed to take care of others. After I graduated from high school IN 1975, I went to Purdue University and obtained my LPN and have been an LPN since 1977. I continue to work, looking forward to my retirement but my thoughts have always returned to her as my mentor, always thinking what I should do to make her proud what she would want me to be as a nurse. She was not only this for me but many in the class with me.. I often thought of her and I missed her very much and often wondered what she was doing. I'm glad I got to see this on Facebook I'm sad that such a kind soul has passed, we will see her again she's touched many lives. Love, prayers and hugs to all the family.

We want to send our deepest condolences to the Hepp family and to let you know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Aunt Dorothy was a treasure, and she will be missed! We always loved being around her - her larger-than-life personality would light up a room and her boisterous laugh and engaging personality were truly captivating...Aunt Dorothy was just the COOLEST person in Indiana - or for that matter, in all the USA. Any time we visited with Aunt Dorothy she was a great conversationalist and she was as hip as anyone half her age...if only we could all be as hip and positive as she was into older age. Aunt Dorothy - we loved you and you were a total ROCK STAR...surely you are lighting up the atmosphere in heaven and partying now with Uncle Bud and Cousin Mike and Grandma Waters and all your friends and relatives up there. Sending LOTS OF LOVE to you, Aunt Dorothy, and all the Hepp family! Joe and Sherry Waters

Mrs. Dorothy Help, was one of the best teacher that I had when I enrolled in her Health Occupational class. She definitely was a people person who interacted in a very professional way with her students during class. I'm glad to say that I was glad to hear taken her class during my Junior and Senior year, 1982 - 1983. She will be greatly missed by so many who came across her during her tenure at Calumet High School. May she Rest In Peace!

Mrs Hepp
You were my inspiration in my life at calumet in the health occupation class
You were the only only teacher that cared in those years of hard times for a Mexican American student in Indiana. You were so wonderful and caring. I am 66 years my name isEudelia (cuevas) Gonzalez. You got me into the university but unfortunately my father didn't let me go. I remember you were going to talk to him but I knew he would not allow me to go. I will never forget you and how you taught me to go forward. To the Hepp family i send you my condolences with all my heart

To a life well lived!

Dorothy,

I can remember the day we met at Pines Village. You were in your empty apartment already envisioning where you wanted your belongings to go. From all of your patio décor, to your little kitchen table ever ready for snacks you were always ready to entertain friends in your apartment.

You loved a good story and an even better laugh. We became fast friends. We would talk about Highland and you would always ask about Philip as you called him. It's like we knew each other before we even met. And oh sweet Fluffy. There never was a better furry companion than Fluffy to you, Ms. Dorothy!

I'll always remember the lipstick and mirror on the wall just inside the door so you could put your lips on just before heading out...even if it was the short walk to get your mail. You always looked just so, perfectly accessorized and put together and ready to have a good time...again even if it was just to get your mail.

Rest easy Ms. Dorothy. You are at once reunited with those you've missed for so long.

All my love,

Comfort Planter
