VALPARAISO, IN - Du Thi Nguyen, age 91, of Valparaiso, IN passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Born in Cambodia on December 31, 1932, and the last living sibling of 11.
Du lived in Vietnam until coming to the United States in 1993 with her husband and children to live a blessed life.
Survived by six children, Hanh (Duke) Lee, Thao (Duong) Nguyen, Phuong (Tri) Chau, Dung (Brent) Lux, Trung (Diane) Nguyen and Trinh (Tin) Nguyen. Du cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Linda (Mark) Tomczak, Paul (Sarah Light) Lee, James Lee, Quyen (James) Catania, Quynh and Jessica Chau, Gabriel and Connor Lux, Dylan (Savanah) Nguyen, Joshua Nguyen, Dina Nguyen, Katelyn, Kacey and Kaylie Nguyen; great-grandchildren, Madison and Jason Tomczak, Franklin and Florence Catania, Coltyn Nguyen.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Ung -Peter- Nguyen and three children, Khai, Khanh and Roi.
Du was known for her loving smile and will be greatly missed by many close friends and loving family members.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at DYKES FUNERAL HOME, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso IN. A 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN, with Rev. Douglas Mayer officiating. Interment, St. Paul Cemetery, Valparaiso IN.
