Duane Van Kley Obituary

DUANE VAN KLEY GREENFIELD, IN
Duane Van Kley, age 67, of Greenfield, passed away on September 18, 2011, in Hamilton County. Born on February 20, 1944, in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of Arthur Jacob and Hazel (Jabaay) Van Kley. He married Jan E. (Hamilton) Evans Van Kley on June 13, 2004, in Munster, Indiana. Mr. Van Kley served in the Coast Guard and in the Coast Guard Reserves and was a photographer. He worked for Ford Motor Company and had also been an Energy Manager at Southland Corp. He retired from Aramark Corp. in 2006. Surviving him are his wife, Jan Van Kley of Greenfield; sons: Robert Van Kley of Lansing, IL, and Shane Van Kley of East Chicago, IN; step-sons: Nathaniel Evans of Seattle, WA, and Zachary (Natalie) Evans of Greenwood; daughters: Michelle Wiltjer of Cedar Lake, IN, and Heaven Van Kley of Demotte, IN; step-daughter, Virginia Evans Cosgriff of Bozeman, Montana; brother, James (Sharon) Van Kley of Lansing, IL; sister, Beverly (Wendell) Smits of Byron Center, MI; and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. central time at Family Christian Center, 340 W. 45th St., Munster, IN, 46321. Steve Munsey will be officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 23, 2011, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. eastern time at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Christian Center in Munster or to the Indiana Lions Eye and Tissue Transplant Bank, 727 East 86th St., Indianapolis, IN, 46240.
