Earl Elder Obituary

Earl R. Elder, Sr. Crown Point Earl R. Elder, Sr., age 70, of Crown Point, passed away Monday, March 20, 2006 at St. Anthony Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Anita of 50 years in September, 2006; three children: Earl (Cindy) Elder, Jr. of Crown Point, Robert (Denise) Elder of Kouts and Margaret (Mike) Gudenschwager of Crown Point; four grandchildren: Christopher (Kelly) Elder, Cassondra Elder, Scott Elder and Tina Gudenswager; two step-children: Tiffany and Benjamin Sonntag; two great-granddaughters: Paige Auld and Keirstynn Elde; one sister, Katherine Petrasich. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Southlake Christian Church, 501 Pratt Street, Crown Point with John P. Starr officiating. Interment at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville, IN. Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East Street, Crown Point, on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 from 3:00-9:00 p.m. with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. and on Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Elder was a member and Elder at the Southlake Christian Church. He worked at U.S. Reduction and was a member of Local #374 Boilermaker and Local #597 Pipefitter. He was a member of the Crown Point Masonic Lodge #157 F&AM and the Southlake Agricultural Historical Society. Earl was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Dear Aunt Anita and Ray and Bobby and Margert Ann,

I am so sorry I did not know that Uncle Earl went to be with the Lord. I loved him so very much, and I cannot tell you how much of a loss that I feel for you all. I love you and you are in my prayers and thoughts.

We remember Mr. Elder as a kind man from church who was always there to greet the newcomers. Always a pleasant word for anyone who came his way. What a loss for the family and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Even though we have moved away, we still remember him and his graciousness.
