Emilio Ibarra Obituary
Emilio Ibarra, age 77, of Hammond, IN passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Community Hospital in Munster, IN. He is survived by six children: Emilio Ibarra, Jr. of Hammond, Cindy Ibarra of East Chicago, James R. (Charlene) Ibarra of Kewanee, IL, Sylvia (fiance Pascual Ramirez) Payan of East Chicago, and Sophia Ibarra of East Chicago; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother and one sister in Laredo, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Salvador and Maria Ibarra; wife, Josephine; daughter, Mary Fernandez; and grandson, James Ibarra II. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Charles Mosley officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation at the Fife Funeral Home, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Burial of cremains will take place Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Emilio retired from Inland Steel Company after 30+ years of service. He enjoyed playing bingo, was an avid baseball fan, and loved to dance. He also enjoyed the company of his friends at the Munster Med Inn.
