Ernest Sako Obituary

Ernest J. Sako Sr. Hammond Ernest J. Sako Sr., born April 25, 1929, of Hammond, Indiana passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Friday, June 17, 2005. He is survived by two daughters: Natalie (Jack) Henry of Valparaiso, Teresa (Dennis) Kaftanic of Hammond; five sons: Ernest John Jr. of North Judson, Ray (Sherry) Sako of Griffith, David (Paulette) Sako of Highland, Del (Margaret) Sako of Wheatfield, Edward Sako of Hammond; sisters: Dorothy (William) Yudt; mother of his children, Lois Sako; numerous grandchildren and one great-grandson; and many numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Andrew Sr. and Tillie Sako; brothers: Julius and Andrew Jr. Sako; sisters: Ann Gardow, Gizelle Footitt, Margaret Strumski, Irene Olah, Ethel Kuchaes and Ella Sako A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home in Schererville/Highland, IN. Friends may meet with the family on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until time of Service at 8:00 p.m. Cremation will be prior to Service, with final resting at a latter date. Ernest was a member of the American Legion and the Elks. He also was a member of Holy Trinity (Hungarian) in East Chicago and he was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 142. Ernest was a veteran of the Korean War. Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements. 219-322-7766.
