I knew Mr. Feingold (never called him Gene) from my days as a caddy at Ravisloe Country Club. He was genuinely one of the nicest people I ever met. I got to know Mr. Feingold very well during the summer of 1979 when I was going for the Chick Evans Caddy Scholarship. Mr. Feingold was president of Ravisloe at that time and his opinion carried a lot of weight with the Western Golf Association. Our caddy master purposely made me caddy for Mr. Feingold several times. Hopefully Mr. Feingold did not get too worn out by having me as his caddy for so many rounds of golf that summer. It seems like only yesterday that I was carrying his golf bag down the fairway.
