Eugene Kemper

Eugene T. Kemper "Gene" Hobart, IN Eugene T. "Gene" Kemper, 69, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2004 at St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room. Gene was a Hobart resident for 32 years and formerly of Gary. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Riverside Refractory. Gene liked traveling, enjoyed golf and painting. He also had a kind word and positive attitude towards everyone and enjoyed his family. Gene was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hobart. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita; son, David (Gail) Kemper of Hebron; three daughters: Diane (Philip) Underwood of Rensselaer, Susan Markos of Hobart and Paula (Darrell) Stewart of Valparaiso; 12 grandchildren: Christopher and Curtis Kemper, Nicholas and Thomas Underwood, Jessica and Edward Kneifel, Steven and Jacqueline Markos and Danielle Overturf, Jacob, Abigail and Ashley Stewart; brother, Milton (Patricia) Kemper of Merrillville and sveral nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter, Dolores Kneifel, grandson, Benjamin Kemper, parents Milton and Marguerite Kemper, brother William Richardson and sister-in-law, Sonja Richardson. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 28, 2004, 10:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Rev. Larry Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visitation is Tuesday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
