Frieda Kawanna

Frieda A. Kawanna Hammond Frieda A. Kawanna, age 71, of Hammond, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2006 at home. Frieda was the daughter of deceased Rosario and Frances Vitaly. She had one sister, Mary (Howard) Rainwater. Frieda was a beloved mother of five: late Daniel, Christopher, JoAnn (Joe) Saenz, Randall and Terry (Carmen) Kawanna. Grandmother of nine to Christopher Jr. (Laura), Angelica, Celina, Danny, Martin, Matthew, Melina, Amanda and Michael. Great-grandmother of five to Angelo, Daniel, Robert Jr., Jocelyn and Jasmin. She was former Den Mother of East Chicago Cub Scout Troop, proud mother of the Club Ki-Yowga Little League Group and former instructor of the East Chicago Headstart Class of 1975-76. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. from the Fife Funeral Home, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd. 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church in East Chicago with Rev. Frank Torres officiating. Burial Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation at the Fife Funeral Home will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Prayer services at 7:00 p.m.
