George Eitel Obituary
October 28, 1943 - : April 5, 2024
CROWN POINT, IN - George Eitel Jr., age 80, of Crown Point passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born in Hammond, IN to George and Ermatrude (Jewett) Eitel and graduated from Hammond High School before serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked the night shift for 42 years at Ford Motor Co. in Hegewish, IL, and was a 20 year member of the Gary Sportsmen Club.
George is survived by his loving wife, Gloria "June" Eitel (née Kravetz), his children: LouAnn (Mike) Rone of Chesterton, IN, Julie Spencer of Downers Grove, IL, and George (Cynthia) Eitel III of Oceanside, CA. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers: Dean (LouAnn) Eitel, Terry Eitel and Fred Eitel; brother-in-law, Peter (Cathy) Kravetz; numerous nieces and nephews, along with his eight grandchildren: George, Michael, Ella, Dylan, Lily, George IV, Julian, and Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Patti Eitel.
After only four dates and two months, George married the love of his life, June. They were a match made in heaven and after 55 years of marriage a real life example of how humor can conquer all. George spent the first half of his life working and tirelessly raising his family alongside his wife. The second half of George's life was spent traveling with June, enjoying his grandchildren, watching the Green Bay Packers, and improving his golf game. His gentle guidance, sense of humor, unwavering support, and infectious smile will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at GEISEN FUNERAL, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE, 606 E. 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN. 46307.
Funeral Services will be at the Funeral Home on Friday, April 12 at 11:00 AM.

So very sad about the loss of George, I knew what a difficult time this is for you and your family. Death is such a terrible thing when we love someone so much. A pain like to other. Even the good memories will bring tears but hopefully time will ease the grief.
