George Klippel Obituary

George B. Klippel, age 73, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025.
George is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra Klippel (nee Terlicher; children: Joseph (Rose) Klippel and Tony Klippel; grandchildren: Luca and Amalia Klippel; sisters: Debbie (Bob) Burkus and Alice (late Phil) Mikesell; his loving black lab, Louie; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents: George and Ilabel Klippel.
George was born and raised in the Glen Park section of Gary, IN. He was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1969. He earned an associates' degree from Valparaiso University. George spent his career in construction in NWI (Carpenters' Local #1005), retiring from Gariup Construction in 2011. George was an avid fisherman, loved tending his garden, loved a wide variety of great music, keeping his bird feeders full, having an Old Style and a good bottle(s) of wine. He will missed by all who knew him.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a service beginning at 6:00 PM.

I've known George since high school. He was always sporting a smile & a friend to many. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. We sat and had a few laughs with friends and family a few weeks ago. Just a good man. RIP my friend.

Debbie and Family, I was both surprised and saddened to learn of George's passing. Another "good guy" from Glen Park has left us too soon! May God comfort you during this difficult time.
