Henrietta Kaminski Obituary

Henrietta Kaminski (nee RYBOWIAK)

Jul 28, 1924 - Oct 3, 2025

Henrietta Kaminski, age 101, of Crown Point (St. Anthony's), formerly of Lansing and South Chicago, has taken her final "TRIP" to be with our Lord Jesus. Born in South Chicago to Walter and Stella Rybowiak, she was the fifth of six children.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward "Stone" Kaminski; parents, Walter and Stella; siblings, Walter (Lillian) Rybowiak, Dorothy (Ted) Niedzialek, Archie Rybowiak, Babara (Ted) Szymanski, and Paul (Lorraine) Rybowiak-Fischer; niece, Gerry Yettaw; and nephews, Robert and Richard Szymanski, and Paul Rybowiak-Fischer.

Henrietta is survived by nieces, Patricia Niedzialek and Kathleen (Anthony) Rybowiak-Fischer-Pagorek; nephews, Ted (late Felma) Niedzialek, Tom (Jacqui) Szymanski, and Randy Rybowiak-Fischer; great-nieces and nephews, Anthony (Kathleen) Pagorek, Erica (Adam) Giegerich, Bryan Pagorek, Hilary (Emilio) Pagorek-Rodriguez, Jennifer (Adam) Breen, Jessica (Ryan) Alexander, Justin (Sara) Niedzialek; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Audrey, Caroline, Avery, Milo, Rory, Ezra, Etta, Bennett, Keller, Grayson, Kempton, Karsten, Charlotte, and Molly.

Henrietta attended St. Mary Magdelene grammar school and Bowen High School. She was employed at South Shore Hospital and ended her career at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana. She was a very generous and loving person. Her family meant the world to her. Traveling was a wonderful way for her to spend quality time with family and friends. She enjoyed cruises, Florida, and Vegas. She was always up for a short trip to Michigan or to a soccer or volleyball game for one of her many great-nieces or nephews. Her favorite hobbies were knitting, crocheting, and especially baking. Her baking satisfied many a "sweet tooth."

Auntie "Yetta" and her "sweet treats" and hugs will be greatly missed. But her wit and love of family will live on forever in our hearts. Thanks for sharing your full and wonderful life with all of us. We would like to thank St. Anthony's Nursing Home and Dunes Hospice for their care and attention to our aunt during these last years of her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, Indiana, with Fr. Yadron officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, Illinois. www.kishfuneralhome.net

I met Henrietta which my mother Paula Shrum was in the room next to her. I spent 6 weeks in Crown Point and everyday talked to her as she ate breakfast and lunch at the same table. My mom said everyday that Henrietta asked about me. My mom passed September 15th and 4 times I attempted to talk with Henrietta but she was always asleep and I didn´t wake her to tell I had not forgotten her. On October 1st, I saw Cathy and thanked her for Henrietta´s friendship and asked if she would tell Henrietta that she was in my thoughts. My sympathies for her family and I believe she will see my mom again in heaven.
