Henry "Hank" O. Stock Jr.

Henry "Hank" O. Stock Jr., 79, formerly of Merrillville, Indiana, passed away at 7:45 A.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Indiana Veterans' Home in West Lafayette, Indiana.

He was born on December 15, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Henry Stock Sr. and Thelma (Putman) Stock.

Hank enlisted in the Army at seventeen in 1963 and left the service in 1977. He served one month less than fourteen years. His duty assignments were two tours in Vietnam, Korea, Okinawa, the Philippines, Germany and bases in the United States.

Upon his discharge from the military, he worked for U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana, retiring in 2008. Hank enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles and playing games on his tablet.

Survivors include brothers, Jon (Judith Lasley) Stock, Westfield, Indiana, Charles Stock, Corvallis, Oregon, David Stock, Portage, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Richard Stock; and sisters, Judy Underwood and Joy Michelle Stock.

The family would like to thank Indiana Veterans Home for his care for almost sixteen years.

Services are not scheduled currently. The burial will take place later at the Indiana Veterans' Home Cemetery, West Lafayette, Indiana.
