Herbert Duensing Obituary

Herb, only child of Herbert L. and Nelda Duensing, passed away March 12 following a swiftly metastasizing illness. As his condition deteriorated Herb made the decision to donate his remains to the Indiana Anatomical Education Program. Consequently, interment (Chapel Lawn) is deferred indefinitely.

Herb is survived by his daughter Holly Bach (Brett) and his son Brent Duensing (Maggie Vachon), his beautiful granddaughters Adalyn, Mallory and Claire Bach, special godson Ben Lyon, many nieces and nephews, in-laws, more friends than would fit on this page, and the mother of his children, Patrice Culp.

Herb grew up in Hessville and attended Morton HS (class '70), graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington (BS -'74) and had a career with United Parcel Service that spanned the years until retirement. He resided in Highland for many years and then in Lowell until his passing. His past recreational activities included bowling, golf, boating, an occasional roll of the dice or hand of cards, as well as hosting friends around his firepit. He had a lifelong affection and opinion for anything relating to Cubs baseball and Hoosiers basketball.

The family wishes to acknowledge all who contributed to Herb's care during his illness. Following the term of Anatomical Research, a memorial service and celebration of life will be forthcoming.
