Hugh Orr Obituary

Hugh Alexander Orr Lowell/Dyer Hugh Alexander Orr, age 86, of Lowell, Indiana, formerly of Dyer, IN, passed away Friday, October 1, 2004. He is survived by his loving wife, LaVerne "Sally" Orr; daughters: Patricia (Roy) Latham of Peotone, IL, Linda Selph of Mesa, AZ and Debra Harmon of Phoenix, AZ; sons: Robert (Joyce) Orr of Joliet, IL, William Orr of Countryside, IL, Ronald (Leslie) Orr of Scottsdale, AZ, Hugh (Betty) Orr of Dyer, IN, Mark (Alicia) Orr of Lowell, Terry (Julie) Orr of Hammond and Steven (Jackie) Orr of DeMotte, IN; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence (Leonard) Medley of Dyer, Ruth (William) Banister of Knox, and Eunice (Robert) Mattison of Evergreen Park, IL; numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his extended family in Ireland. He was preceded in death by parents Francis and Edith (nee Kelly) Orr and sisters, Isabelle Wiersema and Juanita Robertson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 8:00 P.M. at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave. (US 41), St. John, IN, with cremation to follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Orr was raised in Chicago, IL, and moved to Dyer, IN, where he served as a Lake County Constable for 28 years. He also served honorably in World War II and was a member of Iron Workers Local #395.
