James "Cubby" Cubbison Valparaiso James Cubbison "Cubby", age 61 of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away on Friday, January 9, 2004 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, IN. Born in Butler, PA on August 24, 1942 to the late William Cubbison and Muriel Watt. Married 6-22-1963 in Butler, PA to Margaret Grace Vinroe who survives in Valparaiso. Also survived by son James R.II (Becky) Cubbison of Valparaiso, IN; daughters, Karen (Dean) Houpt of Valparaiso, IN and Cynthia Cubbison of Valparaiso, IN; brothers, Alan (Barbara) Cubbison of Wicklifte, OH, Bill Cubbison of Butler, PA, Terry (Linda) Morris of Livington, KY; sister Jean Cubbison of Sewicklay, PA; six grandchildren: Brittany, Kayla, Antonio, Tiffany and Zachariah and Jordan. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Judith Fleeger and sister-in-law, Linda. Funeral services Monday, January 12, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN. Interment, Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Visitation Sunday, January 11, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel. James was an area resident since 1967 coming from Pennsylvania. He was a catcher in sheet and tin from Bethlehem Steel and retired after 28 years. Member of Our Lady of Sorrow Church in South Haven. Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice. James was a Volunteer Fireman in New Chicago, IN and was a member of the Steel Workers Union.
