December 23, 1940 - June 9, 2024
CROWN POINT, IN - James A. Greco, age 83, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was born December 23, 1940, to Thomas and Josephine Greco.
James is survived by his children: James (Konvalia) Greco, Jr., Joseph (Quyen) Greco, Jeffery (Kimberly) Greco, Julie (John) Mueller and Jori (Jack) Dusseau; 15 grandchildren: Taylor (Jake), Brennan, Allison, Isabella, Griffin, Ryan, James III, Dylan, Jayden, Trey, Mackenzie, Matthew, Emma, Kylee and Carson; great-grandchild: Isla; sisters: Marilyn Green, Clara (Jeffrey) Cleary, Carmella Carioscia and JoEllen Ogle; brother: Thomas Greco, Jr.; and former wife and good friend: Bobbi (Mishler) Doherty.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
James graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1958, served his country in the U.S. Marines for three years, graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in history and obtained his law degree from Valparaiso University. He practiced law for 43 years with Greco, Pera & Bishop. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point, cherished coaching his kids in sports growing up and loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially at their sporting events. James was an avid golfer, enjoyed his morning coffee at The Hen and played Pinochle with his group at Bulldog Park. He appreciated the companionship of Harry followed by Oxford, his beloved dogs.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at GEISEN FUNERAL, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN, 46307. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, with visitation at 9:30 AM, at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 101 W. Burrell Drive, Crown Point, IN, 46307, with Fr. Jerry Schweitzer officiating.
Services will conclude at the church with a private interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in James's name to a Humane Society of your choice.

I will always remember our great times on the golf course with our two foursomes and then our retreat to The Village Pump in Gary. We had great get togethers with our "better halves" in various homes.
