James Gresko Obituary
James A. Gresko, 60 of Cable, WI, formerly of Whiting passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth, MN. Loving father of Krista (Bruce) Young of Frankfort, IL; cherished grandpa of Carson and Avery Young; beloved son of Florence (Gima) Gresko of Whiting and the late Joseph C. Gresko; dearest brother of Jack (Judy) Gresko of Whiting, Mary Therese (Dale) Robert of St. John and Catherine (George) Sperka of Munster; former wife, Mary Janiga of Hammond; dear uncle of Abigail Young and Thomas (Amelia) Gresko; fond nephew of Lorraine (late William) Williamson and Bernice (late George) Gima; cousins: Greg, Marilou, and Tim; best friend, Dave B. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S., officiating. Interment St. John Cemetery, Hammond. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of the parish will offer prayers at the funeral home on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Jim Gresko was born on November 22, 1952. He was a graduate of Bishop Noll Institute, Hammond, IN Class of 1970 and received his Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN. Jim was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, BR. 81 and the American Slovak Club. He retired to Cable, Wisconsin. He loved nature and enjoyed being in the North Woods. He always kept busy and loved completing his list of “projects”. Devoted to his family, Jim will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. www.baranfh.com (219) 659-4400

Today is the one-year anniversary of Jim's passing. I still find it hard to believe that he is gone and not coming back. My heart is aching. Words cannot describe my emotions. I will always remember the wonderful and loving relationship we had together. I miss you so very much. Always and forever my love. Your Little One.

My deepest sympathies to the Gresko family. I enjoyed going to Cable with George&Cathy to Jim's beautiful log home to visit in 2010. It was beautiful scenery and so peaceful(except for the black bear). Nice, friendly man. Peace be with you, Jim.
