JAMES E. HANSEN LYNWOOD, IL
James E. Hansen, age 66, of Lynwood, IL passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014. He is survived by his children: Dewayne Eckhoff, Lonnie Hansen, Dennis Eckhoff, Laura (Frank) Hansen Helms, and Greg (Illiana) Hansen; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and five siblings: Fred (Faye) Hansen, Judith (John) Montgerard, David Hansen, Kathy (Ken) Soderstrom, and Kenny (Ilse) Hansen. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Eckhoff; brother, John Hansen Jr.; and parents: John and Erna (nee Schweer) Hansen. Funeral services for James will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Friends are invited to visit with James' family on Thursday, January 23 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. James was a proud veteran of the United States Army and honorably served his country in Vietnam. He was an HVAC mechanic at Inland Steel for 30 years, an avid Chicago Bears and Blackhawks fan, an amateur photographer, and a very intelligent man.
