James Krol Obituary
CEDAR LAKE, IN - James "Jim" R. Krol, age 67. Late of Cedar Lake, IN, formerly of St. John, IN, Passed away August 17, 2024. Beloved husband of Jennifer (nee Branco) for 44 years. Loving and proud father of Major Nick Krol, USMC and Sara (Kyle) Doyon. Cherished grandfather of Grace (Sam) Hager, Hailey Doyon, Paul James, and Olivia. Immensely loved little brother of Ron (Sandy) Krol, Suzanne (Danny) Boller, Nancy (Frank) Wright, and Mary Krol. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jim was an account executive for Precision Control Systems for 31 years. He was preceded in death by siblings, Theodore and Andrea; and father-in-law, Arthur. He will also be welcomed into the afterlife by his mom, Virginia; and father, Theodore.
Visitation Monday, August 26, 2024, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m., at the ELMWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL. Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with prayers at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th LN.) to St. John the Evangelist Church – Day Chapel (Corner of 93rd and 41). Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Interment St. John Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim's memory to the Evans Scholars Foundation http://wgaesf.org or the Semper Fi Fund http://thefund.org. Prayers for peace and comfort for all of his family.
It has been many years since we have spoken and many more since we said goodbye. Hanging out with Jim during our junior high school was one of the best times of my life. We lived a couple streets away and spent every summer being kids. I have so many golden memories. It's been over fifty years and I can honestly say I've thought of him and the gang frequently. He was a really good friend and I missed him when we moved at age fourteen and I'm sure he will be greatly missed forever. Until we meet again, much love Jim, Dale Boucher

I extend my deep condolences to the Krol family. I played a lot of golf with Jim and his father, Ted. I came to know them quite well, very good people! Jim was a great striker of the golf ball, very good player. May he rest in peace!

I was stunned and saddened to learn of Jim's passing. As a former colleague and neighbor, I was fortunate to have known Jim. My sincerest condolences to Jenny and the entire family. Anybody who knew Jim was a better person for having known him.
