Life has many blessings. You often hear the comment "I don't like going to the Dentist" Well I never could say that, even thru literally dozens of root canals, replace that CAP or make a new partial, I always looked forward to seeing Jim and his great crew. He was a kind man with a great family. I starts with Jim when he opened his first office in the Calumet National Bank assisting him by installing a sound system in the office. I'm sure the family will carry on his legacy. My sincere condolences.

My thoughts are with your family. Dr Merlo was my neighbor for 20 years. He was always very friendly and never had many words but always waived or said hi as he would come and go. He would always talk with my daughter just to see how she was doing. He really will be missed.

May your hearts heal as quickly as did his patients! I was one of them, so I know.

Most respectfully, I share your loss; and in this moment, I thank the Lord for the time with him and now with Dr. Murison, his mini-me.

Dr. Merlo was not just my Dentist for over 25 years, he was my friend. He worried always about my dental issues as a parent would worry about their own child. He will always be in my heart. I had hoped he would spend sometime in Palm Springs with us as my Husband is a lover of golf also. Words cannot express my sorrow. I hope he is in heaven arguing with Sonny Marcus about prices and playing cards. I know many of his family members are glad to see him. Sadly, I was not ready to let him go. Life will not be the same without the thought that I will run into him in this life again. Love you! Susan
