Jeanne Marrs Obituary
Born July 2, 1934, in Hammond, Jeanne (Reinert) Marrs was one of seven children. A lifelong Catholic, she attended St. Joseph School and Catholic Central (now Bishop Noll Institute) and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hammond, St. James the Less in Highland, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Lyon.
On June 16, 1962, she married Roy Richard "Dick" Marrs at St. Joseph's Church in Hammond. They shared 18 happy years of marriage until his passing in 1980. Jeanne was a devoted mother to Janet and William Caldwell, Elizabeth and Robert Germick, and Katherine and Eric Wolfe; loving grandmother of 11; and great-grandmother of 2. She is also survived by her sister Pamela (Reinert) Danko and sister-in-law June (Riggs) Reinert. She will now rest in peace beside her husband Dick at Mount Mercy Cemetery in Gary, Indiana.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Joseph's Church in Hammond.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Soup Kitchen, c/o St. Joseph Church, 5304 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, IN 46320.
