Jerry L. Cool, 79, Rossville, passed away, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette. Jerry was born September 23, 1944, in Gary to Kenneth and Elizabeth "Betty" (Dara) Cool, Sr. He married Judith Harger on October 5, 1968, and she survives.

Jerry was graduate of Merrillville High School in 1963. He worked as a Mechanical Millwright for National Steel Midwest Division for 32 years until his retirement in 2003. After his retirement, he worked odds and ends jobs, mowing yards at Angel Hill Golf Course and groundskeeper at Prophetstown State Park, among other things to keep busy. He enjoyed duck hunting, conversing, and telling jokes to anyone he met. He loved his family dearly and loved spending time with family and making memories.

Along with his wife of 55 years, Jerry is survived by his children, Kelly (Kevin) Mills, Sarah (Brandon) Winters, and Christopher (Ashley) Cool; brother, Ron Cool; eight grandchildren, Katelyn, Zoe, Carson, Kai, Dru, Katie, Caden, and Trevor; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Cool, Jr.; a sister, Sue Ratajec; and a nephew, Gary Cool.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST at Rossville Presbyterian Church, 5434 State Road 26, Rossville, IN. A luncheon will be served.
