JOHN CHRUSCIEL VALPARAISO, IN
John Chrusciel, age 68, of Valparaiso passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was born on March 4, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late Albert and Helen Chrusciel. John worked as a welder and service press mechanic until he retired in 2009. On March 11, 2006 in Valparaiso, John married Theodora “Teddy” Prieto who survives along with his four children: Kim Phillips of Springhill, FL, Kelly (Danny) Chupp of Middlebury, IN, John W. (Tiffany) Chrusciel of Greenville, SC, and Sherri (Gregg) Elliott of Greenwood, IN; two stepsons: Ike (Christina) Prieto, Jr. of Valparaiso and John Prieto of Grayslake, IL; eight grandchildren: Alyse Chupp, Cara Chrusciel, Malea and Miranda Kalina, Blake Phillips, Aaron, Misty and Garrett Elliott; three step grandchildren: Dorian, Kylie, and Kayden Prieto; two brothers: Joe (Sue) Chrusciel and Ed (Pat) Chrusciel; three sisters: Mary (Bob) Furgal, Sister Eymard Chrusciel, and Sister Phyllis Chrusciel; and many other family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon; and grandson, Greg Chupp. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso with Fr. Michael Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-4:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 3:30 PM all at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN. moellerfuneralhome.com

I spent a lot of time as a young girl at the Chrusciel's, hanging out with Kim. All of us were always laughing & having fun! I'll always remember your dad as happy & funny;-) Rest in peace Mr. Chrusciel

We were saddened to hear of Johnny's passing. He was one of 23 cousins on the
Chrusciel side of our family tree.

Our hearts go out to his family. We will always remember how kind he was to
Aunt Anna and Uncle John Zelek.
