John Miramontes, age 68, peacefully passed on Friday, December 13, 2024 at home, surrounded by his son and his loving family.
He is survived by his son, Jacob; grandchildren: Ryder Miramontes, Jolene and Magnolia Miramontes; loving sisters, Mary Miramontes and Alice Miramontes, Nephews: Zachary Bandera, Demian and Bridget (Kennedy) Bandera, grandnephews and nieces: Xavier, Maia, Piper and Atticus; Cousins: Raymond and Sally Anguiano, Naty Paredes, Lucy Perez, Rachel Lopez, Xavier (Mary), Sylvia, Danny (Carol), and Ernie Flores, loving neighbors: Eric, Kristen, Lindsey and Lauren Wilson; numerous cousins, dear friends and feline companion, Muffins.
Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Agustina Miramontes and brother, Joseph Miramontez Jr.
John was born June 28, 1956 in East Chicago, IN. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (Hydraulic).
John had a keen interest in reading a variety of spiritual disciplines and challenged himself to interpret them in meaningful ways in the course of his lifetime.
John took pride in helping family and friends when they drew on his expertise to fix electrical, technical and household problems. An "All around Mr. Fixit" guy.
Nothing gave John more joy than watching and being with his grandchildren. He was their "Baba".
Johnnie was a loving son who devoted his time to the care of his Mother Agustina (Aggie) and Father (Joseph) as they progressed in age.We could never thank him enough for the years he dedicated and committed to them. His care was so good, his mother lived to be 89 years old and his father lived to be 105 years old.
John was a brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN, with a Funeral Service at 11:30 am.
