Joseph Cygal Obituary

JOSEPH A. CYGAL FORMERLY OF HEGEWISCH, IL Joseph A. Cygal, age 76, formerly of Hegewisch and currently of San Jose, CA, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn (nee Kowal); daughters: Adrienne (Don) Sabin and Nora (Dave) Mangone; son, Everett (Kathy); sisters: Albina (Ed) Zachocki, Dorothy (Ed) Parsons and Virginia (Al) Zmuda; brother-in-law, Walter (late Eleanor) Troyan; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Alfred (Florence) Cygal; and sister, Eleanor Troyan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 9:30 a.m from Sadowski Funeral Home, 13300 S. Houston, Chicago, IL and 10:00 a.m. from St. Florian Catholic Church. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Mr. Cygal was born on September 3, 1932 and passed away on October 1, 2008. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1950. A Korean War Veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. Joe was a retired electrician with 30 years of service from General American Transport Company in East Chicago, IN and retired from his second job at the Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago. He moved to California in 1996. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Avenue, San Jose, CA, 95124 would be appreciated.
