JOSEPH A. HANNER VALPARAISO, IN Joseph A. Hanner, age 72, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Porter Hospital, Valparaiso. Born at Benton Harbor, MI on April 18, 1937. Son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Brock) Hanner. Valparaiso resident 30 years, formerly of Omaha, NE and Columbus, OH. Mr. Hanner was a retired salesman for James River Company, Holyoke, MA. Employee of Sears of Valparaiso and was named Employee of the Month. Member of St. Paul Catholic Church, U.S. Marine Corps, Knights of Columbus Council, St. Joe, MI, and member of Road Barons. Graduate of high school and one year Junior College at Benton Harbor, MI. Mr. Hanner is survived by wife, Patricia A. (nee Bischoff) Hanner; daughter, Kathryn (Charles) Randolph of Seattle, WA; two sons: Matt (Erika) Hanner of Porter, IN and Mark Hanner of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren: Laurel Mazar, Kelsey Randolph and Gigi Hanner; brother, late Bud Hanner. Funeral service Monday, July 13, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St. Valparaiso, IN with Rev. Joseph Pawlowski officiating.
