JOSEPH POHALSKI (PUCHALSKI) PORTAGE, IN Joseph Pohalski (Puchalski) age 95, of Portage, IN passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Joseph was born in Chicago, IL on June 18, 1921 to Anthony and Sophie (Wojek) Puchalski. He is survived by his wife, Alice Pohalski of Portage, IN; sons, Mark Anthony (Kathy) Puchalski of Mundelein, IL, Paul Andrew Puchalski of Portage, IN, John Edward (Sharon) Puchalski of Champlin, MN and Stephen Gerard Puchalski of Glen Ellyn, IL; grandchildren: Jennifer, Robert, Stephanie (Eric), Samuel and Brock and great grandchildren, Harper and McKenna. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Sophie Puchalski; son, Robert Joseph Puchalski; brothers, John and Edward and sisters, Angie and Helen. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a part of the 94th Infantry Division. He worked for many years as an Inside Sales Manager for U.S. Steel and retired in 1972. Following his retirement he worked for Harris Bank for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Saturday prior to Mass from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel is handling arrangements.
