Joseph S. Poremski Calumet Township/Portage Joseph S.Poremski, age 89, of Calumet Township/Portage, passed away Monday, November 28, 2005, at VNA Hospice, Valparaiso. He was born August 29,1916 in Chicago, IL to Alexander and Agnes (Plewa) Poremski. Survived by three daughters: Joanne (Robert) Stewart of Bixby, OK, Marie Poremski of Branson, MO and Cathy J. Poremski of Portage, IN; sister, Victoria (Frank) Gregorich of Berkley, MI: brother-in-law, Nicholas (late Helen) Budgin of Crown Point; sister-in-law, Julia (late Nick) Horwith of Valparaiso; grandson, James R. Stewart of Bixby, OK; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Anne, infant children: Peggy and Jamie Joseph; two brothers: Victor and John Poremski and sister, Mary Kelner. Joseph was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, U.S.Steel Chorus for many years, NAIM, ARCS, and N.W. Indiana Retirees Club.He was a retired employee from the Gary Sheet & Tin Mill, U.S. Steel with 45 years of service. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. N.W. Indiana service at 3:00 p.m. Prayer service 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2005 from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (5885 Harrison St., Merrillville) with Rev. Dennis Teles presiding. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery.
