Joy Belt Obituary
Pastor Joy Faye Belt, 83 of Grapevine, TX and formerly of Salem, IN passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015. She was born October 14, 1932 in Benson, NC, daughter of the late Elijah D. and Lillie M. (Barefoot) Martin. Joy preached over 60 years and pastored for 28 years for The Church of God of Prophecy in several churches throughout Indiana. Pastor Joy will forever be remembered for her passion of soul winning and telling others about Jesus Christ. Her love for people bridged all races and ethnic groups. On February 1, 1951 in Louisville, KY, Joy married William Belt, Sr. who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children: Billy (Laurie) Belt of Royal Center, IN, Tanya Reel of Valparaiso, IN, Debbie Aterof Clarksville, IN, Mickey (Tammy) Belt, Sr. of Monticello, IN, Tami (Clinton) Jett of DeMotte, IN, and Scott Belt of Grapevine, TX; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Larry Brosmer, Jr.; and four sisters: Inez, Selma, Doris, and Maude. Mother's Home Going will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. Private family graveside service will be held at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
