DRAKESBORO - Joyce Ann Cunningham, 83, of Drakesboro, died October 30, 2023 at 4:07AM at Long-term Care Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born September 18, 1940 in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and attended First Assembly of God in Greenville. She was known for her hospitality, and was very welcoming to folks in her home. She loved to prepare home-cooked meals especially homemade bread and jelly. She made friends with ease. She noticed people and had a unique ability to look into their hearts and lift spirits with a joke or funny story. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with whom she had a relationship since childhood, and her husband, Bill, of 64 years, and to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, David Drake, and Darrell Drake; parents, Esther and Elmore Drake; and brother-in-law, Eddie Chapman.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Cunningham; daughter, Crystal (Mark) Chapman of Bowling Green; sons, Scott (Sheila) Cunningham of Russellville and Edward (Kelley) Cunningham of Hebron; grandchildren, Nathan, J. Hope, Sarah, William, Rachel, Aaron, Sofia, and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Clarissa, Samuel, and Mabel; sister, Marie Chapman; brothers, Randle Drake (JoLynn), Glenn (Joyce) Drake, Dale (Kathy) Drake; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Drake, Joanna Drake.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 3, 2023 at 1PM at First Assembly of God in Greenville with Pastor Ed Tackett officiating. Burial in Forest Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City and Friday from 11:30AM-1PM at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
