Katherine Rumbut Obituary

Katherine C. Rumbut (nee Enocksen) Crown Point/Hammond Katherine C. Rumbut (nee Enocksen), age 97, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2007 while a resident of the Franciscan Home. She is survived by four sons: Wayne (Janice) Rumbut of CA, John (Peggy) Rumbut of Assonett, MA, Joel (Lois) Rumbut of Pearland, TX and David Rumbut of Demotte, IN; two daughters: Marlene McMahan of Hessville, IN and Kae Kellams of Munster, IN; 23 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, John in 1957; son, Karl; daughter-in-law, Sally; sons-in-law: Gerald Kellams and Robert McMahan; one grandson, Jeffrey Rumbut; and two great-grandsons: Barrett Vuletic and Michael Amaya. Katherine was the last of 11 children. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hammond (Hessville), IN with Rev. James Thomason officiating. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Katherine was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. She loved spending time with her children and many grandchildren. Katherine loved to travel and her favorite pastime was shopping. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franciscan Home, 203 Franciscan Drive, Crown Point, IN 46307. For further information, you may call Bocken Funeral Home at (219) 844-1600.
