KATHLEEN A. FRANIAK ROCKFORD, IL Kathleen A. Franiak, 82, of Rockford, IL, was called home on Friday, June 23, 2017. She was born in Hammond, IN, on November 13, 1934 to Frank and Eleanor (Baumgartner) Block. She married Edward Franiak on October 15, 1955 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Calumet City, IL. She enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Victor Catholic Church, and enjoyed crocheting, Yahtzee and Fannie Mae Candy. Kathleen was a strong willed woman, who loved her family dearly. She will be remembered forever as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband, Edward Franiak; children: Mary (Bruce) Bissell, Theresa Holzhauer, Jaclyn Franiak, Thomas (Donni) Franiak; grandchildren: Julie, Jaclyn, Kara (Shawn), Heidi, Preston, Christopher (Neligh), Rachel (Steven); great grandchildren: Ava, Julie, Evelyn, Alexander, Wesley, Spencer, and Cooper; siblings: Val (Carl) Tomich, Fred (Sharon) Block, Karen Griggs. She is predeceased by her parents, and four siblings: Virginia, Jerry, LeRoy and Loretta. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at St Rita Catholic Church, 6284 Valley Knoll Dr., Rockford, IL, 61109. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Friday.
