Kathryn Faye McLeod

Kathryn Faye McLeod (Nee Scott), affectionately known as Faye, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on October 8, 2023 in Napa, California. She was 92 years old.

Faye was born on August 26, 1931 in Gary, Indiana. She was one of 10 children raised on a farm in Crown Point, Indiana.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Norman "Jack" McLeod. Jack and Faye were married for 65 incredible years. Jack was the love of her life and their enduring love and partnership were a source of inspiration and strength to all who knew them.

Faye is also preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Elizabeth Scott; siblings Kenneth, James, Buel, Ruth, Joan, Lois, and Paul; she leaves behind 2 siblings, Jerry and Marie. Her sister, Marie, dedicated her life serving as a Catholic Sister in the Congregation of St. Agnes (CAS), and her spiritual presence was a source of inspiration for Faye.

Faye is survived by her children Scott McLeod (Patricia), Mark MacLeod (Alexandra Sirugue), Alison McLeod Burns (John); her grandchildren Megan Jenks (Michael), Meredith Tuomi (John), Steven McLeod (Chelsea), Gabrielle MacLeod, Keelan MacLeod, Gallianne Lily MacLeod, Claire Burns, and Joseph Burns; and her great grandchildren, Oliver Jenks, Miles Jenks, Rowan Tuomi, Sophia McLeod, and Grayson McLeod; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

For more than 25 years, Faye was a dedicated gym teacher in the Hobart Public School System in Indiana. Her commitment to physical education and the well-being of her students earned her the admiration of colleagues, parents, and the countless students whose lives she touched. After retiring from the school system, Faye became a Target Team Member in Merrillville, Indiana for over 15 years. She continued to make a lasting impression on her colleagues and the customers she served.

In 2022, Faye moved to Napa to live with her daughter where she spent her final days surrounded by family and the natural beauty of the Napa Valley.

A memorial mass will be held on June 29, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Crown Point, IN. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in Faye's honor to Northwest Indiana Families for Effective Autism Treatment (INFEAT) c/o Karen Mummery, 1601 W. 99th Pl. Crown Point, IN 46307.
