I just found out today that Lorraine had passed away and I am crushed. We were sorority sisters, roommates, and she was matron of honor in my wedding. Our last long conversation was in September, 2016. I have been trying to call her ( phone disconnected), send her texts, and today got her Christmas card back. I finally thought about looking for an obituary and today I found it.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Lorraine- she was smart, funny, creative, and always willing to help with anything. She and Bob were the happiest couple and were soulmates. After his stroke, life was an upward challenge which she faced with grace. I know she is truly being missed. Love you, girl.

Lorraine Urban was my very first "date" when we were students at Edison Jr High in Hammond. She was kind and graceful to the awkward teen who knocked on her door, carrying the first corsage purchased with the help of my mother.
Lorraine was a graceful young lady with a gentle walk and pretty smile. It was a lovely evening in which I think I even got to hold her hand. It was a romance (on my part) that carried me through my fumbling years with females and I will always be thankful to her for her acceptance and kindness.
I hope she had a good life. She deserved it. She came from a strong and respected family in south Hammond.
Thank you, Lorraine, for your kindness and acceptance from a very awkward teenager.
