Marion Smith Obituary

MARION (SCOTT) SMITH EAST CHICAGO, IN Marion (Scott) Smith, age 78 of East Chicago, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Gary. She is survived by two daughters: Vikki Brooks of East Chicago and Karen Turner of Toledo, OH; one son, Dwight (Sharon) Scott of East Chicago; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Johnnie Tate of Gary; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by sisters: Thelma Davis and Maggie Scott; brother, Horace Smith. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Baptist Church, 1201 Chase St., Gary with Rev. Marty L. Henderson officiating. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Gary. Visitation will be held Monday, April 30, 2012 at Hinton & Williams Funeral Home, 4859 Alexander Ave., Chicago from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and Peace Baptist Church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Miss Smith was retired from Workforce Development Services.
