MARLENE M. MAHIN-NEVILLS (NEE LAFORTE) CROWN POINT, IN Marlene M. Mahin-Nevills (nee LaForte), age 74, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Riverdale, IL, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point, IN. Marlene is survived by five children: Jeffrey (Gayle) Mahin of TX, Jamie (John) Sandona of Highland, IN, Jennifer (Ken- neth) Livesay of St. John, IN, Jacqueline (Jeffrey) Lambert of Crown Point, IN and Judith (Jody) Hill of Cedar Lake, IN; 16 grandchildren: Melissa (Lucas) West, Jeffrey, Charles, Matthew, Nicholas, John, Jacob, Megan, Melanie, Alexander, Karissa, Courtney, Emma, Hannah, Anthony and Joseph; two great- grandchildren: Paige and Madison; brother, Emil (Betty) Marcotte; sister, Shirley Becatti; many nieces and nephews; former daughter-in-law, Susan Mouhib; first husband, David Mahin; and second husband, Russell Nevills. She was preceded in death by parents: James and Hattie LaForte; son, Joseph Mahin; and sister, Ann Guetschow. Marlene was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point, IN and the National Society Order of Foresters. She was an avid gardener, antique collector and enjoyed spending time with her family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre (two blocks east of Broadway) at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral prayers will be said on Wednesday, March 26, 2012 at 9:15 AM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point, IN followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St., Crown Point, IN with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Services will conclude at the church with cremation to follow.
