How fortunate all of us were to have had Mike in our lives, and now to treasure his memories. For me, life will never be the same without Mike. We met in kindergarten, and remained friends throughout the years. I always admired him. When I was nine, I named my turtle after him. In more recent years, our conversations seemed to end up about our childhood, and our many shared memories, never letting go.
Eric and I send our love and condolences to Bari, Jamie and Lori.

Bari and family, Jody and I are so terribly saddened to learn of Mike's passing and our prayers are with
you during this difficult time. Mike and I were in the army together more than 50 years ago and he made
an indelible impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was kind, compassionate,
witty and the absolute funniest person to be around. Mike will be missed by all who knew him and, we too
we grieve for his loss.

Dear Bari,
I was so very saddened to hear tonight from my friend and neighbor Richard Waxman, that your beloved Michael had been ill and died at our local Community Hospital. I am truly undone by hearing of his untimely death. Many years after Michael graduated from South Shore,he and I reconnected when your daughter Jamie married Cindy Mayer Ostrovsky's son Steven. The Ostrovskys lived just two doors from us in Hammond, and it was fun to discover we had a connection with them. But in addition to Michael's warmth and friendliness, what I remember most about him, and what I am most grateful for, was his kindness in asking me, his old homeroom teacher at South Shore, to the Medicare Party that was held at Lorry Sirkin's house, when Mike and his homeroom classmates turned 65. That was such a memorable evening for me, reconnecting with all of those 'kids,' whom I had not seen since they were 18, and some of whose names appear in this Guest Book. I well know that a lifetime goes by all too quickly, but Michael's life ended entirely too soon. My heart goes out to you and your children, Bari. There will be difficult days ahead as you grieve this loving husband and father. May your close bonds, wonderful memories and shared religious beliefs bring you comfort.
My affectionate condolences,
Teresa Breslin Glotzbach

Bari...We are so very sorry for your family's loss. Michael was a special guy and Donna and I have but a thimble filled with fond memories of great times with him compared to the life time of wonderful experiences that you and your family must have. Our favorite was his love for cars. We can still visualize Michael pulling up to the curb in his red and white Corvette always with a smile on his face. It was always a beautiful day because that car would never be seen in the rain. We will always remember Michael.

Although I wasn't able to see Mike often it was always a pleasure to reunite with him in person. For the past couple of years he was also one of my favorite Words with Friends partners. Mike was simply one of the nicest people I've known, a good man. He will be sorely missed.

I was a classmate of Mike's in high school and he has been an integral part of our lunch group. One of my sons has the same name as Mike. He and I often had a good laugh when I would mistakenly send an email to him that was intended for my son, also named Michael Block. Our hearts go out to Bari and to Mike's family. We will miss him.
