Michael Drotar Obituary

Michael T. Drotar Valparaiso Michael T. Drotar, age 82, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006. Survived by four children: Ronald (Jackie) Drotar of Dixon, IL, Daniel (Beth) Drotar of Valparaiso, Jamie (Keith) Lee of Westville, IN and David (Michelle) Drotar of Granger, IN; sister, Irene Drotar Merkousko of CA; seven grandchildren: Adam, Devin and Niles Drotar, Christopher and Kaitlin Lee, Jessie and Kacey Drotar; Goddaughter, Eileen Conrad of CA.Preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; granddaughter, Caroline T. Drotar; and brother, John Drotar. Michael was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, a member of Painter's Local #8 and retired as a General Foreman from American Bridge Co. with 33 years of service. He was a life member of VFW Post #2511 and an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War having served in the 11th Airborne Division. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. Rosary at 2:30 P.M. Prayer Service at 5:00 P.M. and VFW Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, December 22, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 11:30 A.M. from St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church (557 W. 57th Ave., Merrillville) with Rev. Michael Evanick officiating. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Family and friends may share an online condolence or memory at www.pruzinfuneralservice.com

I'm very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a great guy and very well though of by the Binkley family. I'll always have memories of overnighting at Millie's and Mike's and sitting around campfires. He'll be missed!
