MICHAEL R. GONDELL GARY, IN Michael R. Gondell, age 82, of Gary, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Claire (nee Persic); three children: Carol (Michael) Shendrick of Ogden Dunes, Michael Gondell of CA and John Gondell of Valparaiso; sister, Eleanor (late George) Strimbu of Gary; two grandsons: Michael and Nicholas Shendrick; one niece; and many nephews. Preceded in death by his sister, Anna Mae Gondell. Michael was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Gary. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Council and the Sheil Club, Gary. He attended St. Meinrad Seminary for two years and was a retired Systems Analyst from U.S. Steel Gary Works with 33 years of service. After retiring from U.S. Steel, he was employed for many years at Boric Religious Articles, St. John. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, IN on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 330 E. 45th Ave., Gary, IN with Rev.
