MIGUEL COLON Obituary
On the early morning of February 7, 2010 Miguel Antonio Colon was prematurely snatched from this earth and taken into the arms of the Lord. Miguel is survived by his son, Luciano Colon; and fiancee, Monserrate Feliz Maldonado, whom he was proud to call "his love". Also left to mourn his passing are his parents: Ramon and Diana Colon. Miguel was very fond of his paternal siblings: Judith E. (Jose) Mejia, Raymond (Cindy) Colon, Edwin (Que-Que) Colon and Will (Susan) Colon; beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Miguel was especially proud and lucky to have his devoted uncle, Mario Lopez. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago, IN (one block north of Columbus DR-US12) with Rev. Gilberto Novales officiating. At rest Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A business management major at Purdue Calumet, Miguel loved cars, music, reading cooking and, most of all, his friends. Miguel enjoyed Sunday school, science projects and academic competitions in his early years, and went on to excel in swimming and golf. Most recently, he worked as a Kirby salesman and was very enthusiastic about life with his new family. Despite violence claiming his young life, Miguel had a good heart and will be greatly missed by all. Our family and friends pray that he is resting peacefully, alongside his grandparents, whom he loved so much.

I have very sweet memories of Miguel when he was little - I remember his love of animals and books and his science project on whale blubber. I'm sure these memories of a sweet, smart boy are shared by many; he will be missed.

I can't believe your life was cut short..you were a great guy..I will always cherish the memories growing up with you..you've been through the good and the bad..but only God knows why your life here on earth had to come to an end..but just like johnny and louie said..your life just started..you were able to leave behind a baby boy that everyone knows you had given love to. Colon family,
