Nancy Louise (Keilman) Baraba, 72, of Portage, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 21, 1952, in Gary, to the late Thomas and Dorothy (McDevitt) Keilman.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Krsto Baraba, and beloved son, Nicholas Baraba, whom, as Nancy would often state, was the love of her life.
Nancy is survived by her siblings, Marcia Keilman, David Keilman, Susan (George) Sceniak, Mary (John) Suba, Ray (Linda) Keilman, James (Cammie) Keilman, Janice (Steve Marck) Keilman, and Joanne (Jim Varkalis) Keilman; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.
In accordance with Nancy's wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 5 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft St, Merrillville, IN 46410. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 6 PM.

Nancy & I were best friends in high school. We lived across the street from each other. She was always at our house. We were inseparable back then. So many wonderful memories. Fly high with the angels Sweet Friend! My condolences to her family. You all are in my prayers.

I'm sorry to learn of Nancy's passing. She, Marcia and I were early childhood friends. We lived across the alley from each other in Miller. My prayers for the family. We've lost 2 of our 5. God bless you all.
