Nancy E. Funk, 80, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away on December 21, 2025. She was born on April 20, 1945, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Nancy retired from the U.S. District Court where she worked as Judge James T. Moody's Administrative Assistant.
She was preceded in death by her son, Captain Ryan Davis; her parents, Kenneth and Vera Harbison; and her brother, George Thomas Harbison. Nancy is survived by her husband, Attorney R. Cordell Funk; daughter, Kendra (Frank) Paniagua; Ryan's widow, Carina Davis; stepsons, Graham Funk, Kevin (Amy) Funk; her grandchildren, Mikaela Paniagua, Tony Paniagua, Alexandra Davis, Natalie Davis, Ryan Davis, and Evelyn Funk.
Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, Indiana.

I knew Nancy from delivering mail to the court house, and I think at her husband's office, occasionally. She was so pleasant to talk to in that intimidating building. I am so sorry to see this notice. My condolences to her family. Peace be with her.
