Nancy Jo Jacobs (nee McNiece)

Nancy Jo Jacobs (nee McNiece), age 92, of Crown Point, passed away October 16, 2025. She is survived by her stepsons, Robert (Amy) Jacobs of Crown Point, Richard (Jody) Jacobs of Fayetteville, Pa., Donald (Cindy) Jacobs of Woodstock, Ill.; numerous loved and loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Banks I. Jacobs; parents, James and Vera McNiece; brothers, Robert, James and William McNiece; sister, Marjorie (McNiece) Irish and their spouses.

She was a 1951 graduate of Emerson High School, and a member of Bethel Church in Crown Point. Nancy was a long-time employee of U.S. Steel Gary Works, as well as a Care Companion employee, Hospital Auxiliary member and Nursing Home Memory Care Volunteer at Franciscan Health Alliance. She enjoyed spring vacations in Arizona, summers day trips to Chicago, attending Hall of Fame Inductions and spent two summers attending every home game, and games in Milwaukee and St. Louis, rooting for her favorite Cubs baseball team.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Burns Funeral Home and Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Crown Point.
