Nate was a great mentor to me. He always had time to look at my drawings of buildings when I was only 10 after Sunday School. When I was in middle school and high school he let me spend time at his office. When I was in architecture school I interned with Nate. He taught me much more than architecture, life lessons I would alway remember. When I got out of school and needed a job he hired me even though he wasn´t busy. He always had time which I hope I´ve paid forward to young architects.
My memories are filled with time in the house/office with Nate, Dan and the family coming and going.
During my career Nate sent me a letter saying he was proud of me. It meant so so much to me I have it today.
Thank you for helping shape my life.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and the family

When I was young and naive, but didn´t know it. Nate, thanks to Les Combs, became architect for medical buildings I wanted to build for physicians in Merrillville. He literally enabled me to accomodate physicians needs by custom designing space for each that were not available at that time. Great generous l, talented human being I had the privilege of knowing, working with and "do unto others" kind of person, that I´ve emulated for years.
God Bless. Nate. My prayers are with you and your family
