Nick Sever

Nick "Nikola" Sever Ogden Dunes Nick "Nikola"Sever, age 81, of Ogden Dunes, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2003. He was the retired owner of Central Distributing Company of Gary for many years. A lifelong, dedicated and active member, and past President of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church. The past President of the St. Sava Sunday School Board and its former Men's Club. He was honored as Kum, of the St. Sava Circle of Serbian Sisters. A member of SSS-"Karageorge Choir", and "Srbadija" Lodge of the S.N.F. A U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII. A member of Teamsters Local #142. also, a member of the Indiana Beverage Alliance. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean "Jagoda" Sever in 2002, and his dear brother, Joe Sever. Nick is survived by four children, Barbara (Frank) Skala and Ruth Ann (Mike) Bjelopetrovich, both of Ogden Dunes, Dan (Linda) Sever of Valparaiso and Nick J. (Melaniee) Sever of Ogden Dunes; four grandchildren Brent, Tasha, Briana and Brooke Sever, also, numerous Kumovi and dear lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Directly at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church with V. Rev. Jovan Todorovich, officiating. Interment, Calumet Park Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by Savich & Semplinski Fuenral Directors. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, corner of 101st and Broadway, Merrillville/Crown Point, IN. A Pomen Service will be offered at 7:00 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the St. Sava Building Fund, or to VNA Hospice Homecare Center, c/o 501 Marquette Rd., Valparaiso, IN.
