Nora Murillo Obituary

Nora Murillo Hammond Nora Murillo, age 39 of Hammond, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004. Survived by her son, Rodrigo Magee; parents, Ruben, Sr. and Catalina Murillo of Gary; one brother, Ruben Murillo, Jr. of Munster; fiance Gerard Rod Magee; mother in law, DeDee Magee; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 719 Clark Road, Gary. with Father John T. Ombre officiating. Burial to follow at St. John/St. Joseph Catholic Cemeteries, Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., at the Oleska-Pastrick Funeral Home, 3934 Elm Street, East Chicago (one block north of Columbus Drive-U.S. 12); and also at the Church on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Nora was an employee of Top Bulb.Com Company with 20 years of service. She was a graduate of Gary West Side High School, class of 1981 and a member of Holy Rosary Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family for Nora's son Rodrigo.

I felt so much sadness when I heard the sad news about Nora. For a short period of time, she touched my life with a great friendship and memories. How fortunate we are that in our hearts we keep forever the memories of those we love and the time we shared. I had the pleasure of working with Nora at Gray Supply for about 3 and 1/2years. In that time, I grew to know and appreciate what a genuine and loving person she was. She was always kind to everyone who came in contact with her and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Words can't fully express the empty feeling created when Nora left this life. It is, however, a great comfort to know that she is looking down upon all of us, smiling that big smile of hers.

To The Murillo Family,

I was sadly stricken to read the news about Nora. Nora and I graduated from West Side together. Nora made me a beautiful plaque when my daughter Veronica was born. This plaque hung on the wall all these years. It reminds me of her love for everyone and laughter and the very beautiful person that manifested in her. I deeply regret losing touch with her since I have moved from Gary. But, just know that I often thought of her kindness. May God be with your family in this time of need and may He provide your family with strength in the days to come.

I, too, worked with Nora a few years back. Nora was always smiling, always had a kind word and was always willing to help. Nora was a friend in the truest sense of the word. The world is a better place thanks to Nora. All who knew her will miss her.

Nora and I worked together at Gray/ Topbulb for nine years. She was a very special person. She was kind, courteous, and a devoted employee who gave her best effort in everything that she did. Her outlook was always positive and her smile would light up the room. Nora was unique and touched the lives of many people. I am happy to have known her and wish her family comfort and peace.
