Norman Lundgren Obituary

Norman P. Lundgren Scottsburg/Valparaiso, IN Norman P. "Ace" Lundgren, age 81, of Scottsburg, IN, formerly of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2004. He was born April 20, 1923 in Hammond, IN, son of the late August Rudolph and Eva St.Clair (Eastman) Lundgren. He married on April 20, 1946 to Iris M. (Dipert) Lundgren, who survives. Also survived by daughters: Cheryl (John) Avery of Crown Point, IN and Gayle Curry of Crosby TX; son: Carl (Lena) Lundgren of Scottsburg, IN; brother: Lawrence (Alberta) Lundgren of Big horn, WY; also, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 7:00 PM from the Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, IN; and on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at the Moeller Funeral Home in Valparaiso, IN at 7:00 PM. Visitations are: 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home, 465 W. McClain Ave., Scottsburg, IN 47170; and 2 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN. Cremation following services with disposition at a later date at the Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Mr. Lundgren was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII serving on the PT Boats in the Pacific Ocean. He lived most of his life in Lake and Porter Counties. He was a retired Millwright for U.S. Steel Corp. in Gary, IN. He was also a former employee of the old Cities Service Oil Refinery (CITCO) in East Chicago, IN. I worked with Norm at US Steel and enjoyed our times together. He was a good man with a sense of humor that made being around him a pleasure. My condolences to the family.
