Olga V. Papesh, age 99 of Aurora, IL formerly of Whiting, IN and Munster, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She is survived by her children, Diane (late Fred) Duy, Ralph (Janet) Papesh, Nancy (Bruce) Hoble and Laura (Gerry) D'Souza; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristen) D'Souza and Morgan (Woody) Papesh-Hostler; many nieces and nephews. Olga was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Stephen A. Papesh; parents, Joseph and Barbara Gasenica; brother, Joseph Gasenica; and sisters, Lillian Bredeson and Bessie Marshall.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with Deacon Joseph Stodola officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Saturday, at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service.
Olga was a graduate of George Rogers High School and married Stephen A. Papesh on May 17, 1947. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper at Condes Restaurant and Whiting Federal Credit Union, as well as a teller at Liberty Savings Bank. Olga was an avid Artist/Watercolorist and a Past Member of the 119th Street Artists, Lacare Art League, Chesterton Art League. Illiana Artists and Northern Indiana Art Association and won many art awards throughout the years. She most of all was a loving grandmother, gentle, always had kind words for others and was a passionate artist.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Olga's name to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
