Panajotis Laspas Obituary
Panajotis Laspas, age 92, of Crown Point, formerly of Hammond, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012. He is survived by three sons: Leonidas (Helen) Laspas of Crown Point, William Laspas of MO, and Michael Laspas of Fort Wayne, IN; three grandchildren: Michele (Jim) Massow, Peter Michael Laspas, and David Laspas; five great grandchildren; and one nephew. Preceded in death by his wives: Eudoxia and Apolina; two brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012 DIRECTLY at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 8000 Madison Street, Merrillville, IN with Fr. Theodore Poteres officiating. Panajotis will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, and will be laid to rest directly after service at Mount Mercy Cemetery, Gary, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville, IN 46375 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Trisagion service at 2:00 p.m. Panajotis was born in Trikala, Greece. He was a WWII veteran and Greek Air Force. He retired from Blaw Knox with 30 years of service. Panajotis was a former member of St. Michael Ukrainian Church in Hammond, IN. In lieu in flowers, donations in Panajotis' name would be appreciated to St. Constantine and Helen Helping Hand Fund.
